Green Art Labs Teaching Artist (Classes, Camps & Workshops)

Part-Time, Weekday Afternoons, School Breaks and Summer

Green Art Labs is looking for enthusiastic, creative, and dependable Teaching Artists to lead hands-on art experiences for children in schools and community settings. Our programs encourage imagination, creative confidence, and environmental awareness through process-based art with reusable materials. 

Whether you're teaching an after-school class, leading a school workshop, or facilitating a week of summer camp, you'll help children explore, experiment, create, and discover the joy of making eco-art.

No formal art teaching degree is required. We provide paid training, curriculum, lesson plans, and all necessary materials. We're looking for educators and creative individuals who enjoy working with children and creating engaging learning experiences.

What You'll Do

After completing our paid training program, you will:

  • Lead engaging, hands-on art classes for students of all ages

  • Facilitate after-school enrichment classes, community workshops and seasonal camps

  • Encourage creativity through open-ended, process-based art activities

  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

  • Set up and organize art materials before each class and clean up afterward

  • Foster curiosity, collaboration, and self-expression

  • Travel to local schools and community locations throughout San Diego County

  • Represent Green Art Labs with professionalism, enthusiasm, and care

What We're Looking For

Our ideal Teaching Artist is:

  • Passionate about working with children ages 5–12

  • Creative, energetic, and enthusiastic

  • Comfortable leading groups of children in a classroom or workshop setting

  • Patient, organized, dependable, and adaptable

  • Interested in art, creativity, sustainability, or environmental education

  • Able to confidently follow lesson plans while encouraging student creativity

  • Reliable with personal transportation and a valid driver's license

  • Available for at least two weekday afternoons each week (after 2:00 p.m.)

  • Available to teach during select school breaks and summer camps
